Measurement of poverty and the impact of poverty alleviation programs has become increasingly challenging since the definitions of poverty have expanded and focus on newer indices of development has made measurement difficult. Measuring qualitative indices of development and empowerment and reorienting developmental programs to better address these dimensions is vital. This presentation addresses some of these challenges and will explore how community development programs through women collectives can impact poverty outcomes.
