Government Affairs Director, America Forward
Nicole Truhe is the Government Affairs Director for America Forward. America Forward ‘s mission is to unite social innovators with policymakers and advance a public policy agenda that fosters innovation, rewards results, catalyzes cross-sector partnerships, and translates local impact into national change.
In her current role Nicole represents the policy and funding priorities of the over 70 innovative and high performing organizations that are a part of the America Forward Coalition to members of Congress, the Federal Administration and other like-minded coalitions. Nicole leads on strategy and advocacy efforts related to pay for success/evidence-based policy, workforce development, social innovation, and criminal justice for the Coalition.
Nicole spent much of her career developing and implementing a government relations and public policy strategy at Youth Villages, an America Forward Coalition member. In that capacity, she advocated for policy and funding changes in the child welfare, juvenile justice, children’s mental health, and innovative financing policy areas.
Nicole holds a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Memphis and is currently a PhD candidate in Public Policy at George Mason University. Her dissertation work is focused on the U.S. child welfare system and interventions utilized to serve abused and neglected children.
