Manager, Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP), Washington State Department of Early Learning

Karin Ganz is the Manager of the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) with the Department of Early Learning (DEL). ECEAP is Washington State’s pre-kindergarten program that prepares 3- and 4-year-old children from low-income families for success in school and in life.

Karin oversees the monitoring, oversight, training and technical assistance provided to the 56 ECEAP contractors around the state of Washington. Currently, Karin works to improve quality in early learning through responsive coaching supports, individualized technical assistance for ECEAP contractors, collaboration with other state and community stakeholders, accessible preschool expansion and monitoring practices built on strong partnerships. In addition, Karin developed a pilot project focused on individualized family support services that increases self-sufficiency. This pilot included use of the Mobility Mentoring approach.

Karin is a licensed mental health counselor and brings a depth of experience from early childhood and social service settings including Head Start and ECEAP, community mental health work, and parent education. Karin earned a Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Evergreen State College and a Master’s degree in counseling from Bastyr University.
