Donna Jeffers is the Managing Trustee of Edgewood Trust, an agriculture investment company, and owner of Canneberges Becancour Management Co. As an entrepreneur and investor, Donna purchased the family agriculture business in 1988 and grew the company into one of the largest fruit growing operations in the United States. From farming, she expanded into a fresh fruit export business, a juice concentrate manufacturing facility and a Canadian agricultural holding. In 2009 the Canadian corporation was sold to John Hancock Agricultural Resource Group. Prior to her business endeavors, Donna spent 22 years in human services, serving as Commissioner and Deputy Secretary in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. Her responsibilities included statewide services to children, youth and families including child protective services, foster care, adoption and juvenile justice. Highlights of her public service career include closing juvenile detention facilities and developing community based programs for troubled youth. She has consulted with non-profit organizations and state governments in over 10 states in organizational development and strategic planning in child welfare and juvenile justice programs. Donna has a BA in Sociology from Connecticut College, an MPA from University of Pennsylvania and MBA from Boston College. She was a Criminal Justice Fellow at the Harvard Law School. Donna enjoys travel, biking, spending time with her grandchildren, and helping women small business owners with start-ups. She was the former Board Chair of the Crittenton Hastings House.
